STEP 2: Contemporary Movies

The film media can be a very useful medium for students when learning about Shakespearian drama. After all, plays are meant to be seen; Shakespeare intended for his plays to be performed. While advocating watching movies of the play itself, students can also benefit from seeing adaptations of Shakespeare's influence on drama in modern movies as well. Choose one of the following movies and view it to make thematic connections to Shakespeare's classic "Romeo and Juliet:" Tristan and Isolde; Memoirs of a Geisha; Titanic.
