STEP 1: Contemporary Young Adult Novels

Choose one of the following contemporary young adult novels to read independently: Someone Like Summer, by M.E. Kerr; Scribbler of Dreams, by Mary E. Pearson; Mismatch, by Lensey Namioka. Each of these novels has been deemed appropriate for thematic connections to "Romeo and Juliet." You may find each of these novels at public libraries. Once you have completely read the contemporary novel, write a 2-page response on how it is similar in themes to the play Romeo and Juliet.
