You will read a contemporary young adult novel and write a 2-page response on how it is similar to Romeo and Juliet. You will watch a contemporary movie and write a 2-page response on how it is similar to Romeo and Juliet. You will listen to (or read the lyrics of) a contemporary song and write a 1-page response on how it is similar to Romeo and Juliet. Your responses should include the similar themes (i.e. love, friendship, loyalty, deception, prejudice, culture, etc.) and events that are demonstrated in both works. You may also include the concept of boundaries (i.e. familial, romantic, social, cultural, etc.) in your responses. Once you have finished the process, you will have completed a 5-page research analysis project.
