INTRODUCTION

Young adults have a right to appreciate the works of Shakespeare. The Shakespearian play that is most relatable to young readers is about two teenagers in love, "Romeo and Juliet." This site offers students a variety of contemporary works and resources to assist students in reading Shakespeare's classic play and relating it to modern society.

In this lesson on drama, students will be involved in the active reading, viewing, and listening of contemporary young adult novels , movies, and modern songs as examples of facilitating material to write a 5-page research analysis utilizing themes learned from the unit readings, discussions, and materials.
